Listener Comments Here's a selection of comments from our lovely listeners! Want to add yours? Find out how below! "I'm an avid listener. The only time I listen to something other than 91.5 in my car is when i'm out of range, or it's Prairie Home Companion night. ;o) I really appreciate the selection you guys provide, and I love that y'all play so many acoustic performances. I've discovered some great artists because of this station."
"We have been faithful listeners BOTH times we lived in Fort Wayne. Originally, we moved here from the Bay Area and your station reminded us of ones we heard out there, as far as contact, new artists, etc. We returned to California…then moved back again…and yes, we’re tuned into The Eagle again! Thanks for a great station!"
"I just moved here from Washington, DC and was depressed about the amount of time I now have to spend in the car (vs. DC's public transportation or walking everywhere). UNTIL, I stumbled upon your radio station. Listening to your station makes car time something I actually enjoy. What a fantastic station and lineup! Way better than anything I ever listened to in DC (or expected to find in Fort Wayne). You should all be very proud of yourselves."
"Last year, I moved to Fort Wayne from Phoenix, AZ (don’t ask) where I also spent a fair amount of time in LA & San Diego for work. Hands down, you operate a finer radio station in little ole’ Columbia City than anything broadcast in those 'major' markets. The diverse music, deep cuts and minimal interruptions on 91.5 is such a refreshing alternative to anything on the radio."
"I was traveling through your area last week on business, scanning the rental cars FM radio past all the country and Christian stations (not that there's anything wrong with that) when I stumbled on your frequency. You would not believe how great it is to hear 'Transcendental Blues' or 'Nightswimming' when you are far from home. They are like old friends. I'm sending my thanks to you, for lifting my spirits in a most unexpected way. Keep up the excellent work."
"Just a quick note to let you know what a great job you guys do. I've listened for years (I live in Churubusco). WJHS is the best station in the area, maybe anywhere-- great music with a pleasant mix of the familiar, the new, and the challenging. I love no commercials and the humorous quotes in between the music. Please keep up the good work!"
"I am a 1988 graduate of CCJHS and now live in Washington DC. I wanted to write and compliment you and the staff of WJHS. It's quite simply the best radio station in the country. I travel a lot and have been hard pressed to find a better radio station. Here in DC, we listen on the web. When we're in Columbia City visiting my family, we set our dial to WJHS and don't move it. It's a complete pleasure. Thank you so much for bringing a great alternative to commercial (and boring) radio."
"I am new to this area of Indiana and I recently discovered your station by accident. ... I think your station may be the best in the midwest (I lived in Chicago for 35 years and there isn't a station anywhere close to as good as you guys there), keep up the good work."
"I just wanted to pass along that I enjoy your station more than any other in this area. I listen to it at work on the internet and in my car. Great station! I know that it takes a lot of hard work to produce a quality product. I really appreciate it!"
"Cheers from San Diego. I just started listening to your station. So far, every song has been great. Excellent mix of music and artists. Keep up the good work."
"I locked into your station by accident. I was 1/2 living in Chicago where 91.5 is their public radio station. While there, I switch between NPR and WXRT while doing my stint in Chicago. Keep up the good work! How do you do it without commercials?"
"Thanks for the breath of fresh air coming in through radio waves. Definitely the best thing going in this part of the state...I’m a big fan, and I proudly display my 91.5 static window sticker on my truck."
"Before finding 91.5 I surfed around three stations trying to listen to the music (or giving up and just listening to the same news over and over) Way to go WJHS! What's it say when a student run station can take a listener from 3 commercial stations?"
"What a welcome alternative to stations elsewhere. No more DJ's who like to hear themselves talk. No more DJ's who laugh at their own stupid jokes. No more endless commercial breaks. Just great music!"
"Keep up the good work and don't change a thing!"
"Keep up the good work. You are the ONLY station in the Fort Wayne area worth listening to. My friends and I are recommending your station as the true alternative station in this area to everyone we know."
"Great Station! Thank You for all the hard work involved!"
"Congratulations on an entertaining radio station. You are blowing Fort Wayne's alleged "rock 'n' roll" radio stations out of the lake."
"Your format at the Eagle 91.5 is outstanding! I feel it is as good, or better, than stations I listen in much larger markets when traveling. I have always been a big fan of the River 93.9 in Detroit (actually Windsor, Ontario) because I constantly hear artist and music that are new to me. I have heard just as many "new" artist on the Eagle and have bought many CD's from the music you play. You guys are doing a great job! Keep up the good work."
"Man, your station just gets better and better! Most radio formats seem to go from good to more "least common denominator" music, but geez, you guys are playing the Talking Heads and XTC. What's up with that? NOBODY plays XTC. And you still don't have all the moronic middle-school antics of those dj's on ____."
